Finished DAFFODIL SEASON, one other, and made progress on two others

Another season on Melinda's farm and business in Prosper.  Problems arise and some get solved.  But we are left with a nagging one.  Through it all her farm, animals, family, and a new love interest sustain her.

I then started One of Us is Lying, by Karen McManus, young adult novel.  I gave this to my great granddaughter for Christmas and was intrigued enough to buy a copy for myself.  5 high school students wind up in detention, all for the same reason.  During the hour, one of them dies...of ingesting peanut oil which he is allergic to.  Assuming the culprit to be one of the others in the room, the police, press, and other students start accusing all of them.

I then returned to Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell.  In the section I read, Jonathan suffers a family loss.  Magic from an unknown source is bothering Childermass.

I have now begun The War Within, the second book in Stephen Donaldson's Great God's War.  Belliger and Amika have joined forces in an alliance to protect their nations from a sinister threat they have been told about by the magicians at the library (which is the real target of the threat.)

Finished HOW TO TRAIN AN ELEPHANT and two other books

Charlie has rescued an orphaned baby elephant, but he is going to need help with it whether he thinks so, or not.  As always, I enjoyed this addition to the Ladies' Detective Agency saga.  A welcome break from life.

Then I read Trouble with the Cursed, #16 in the Hollows series.  I have enjoyed this series from the get go.  It does seem to get more outlandish and creative with each new book.  Once I convince myself to just go with it, I love the ride.  A really fun series.

Then I read #23 in Heather Graham's Krewe of Hunters books.  This one is Wicked Deeds.  It is a modern Edgar Allen Poe story set in Baltimore.  I had thought that the switch from strangers solving the mystery together and fall in love at the same time tradition of these books would be a little less intense when the couple doing the solving is married.  And no, not less intense, but intense about different things...  Loved it as usual.
