Yes, that was tense. A worthy addition to the series. Almost non-stop action. When it does slow down to describe history, technology, or environment, watch out--the roller coaster is about to start again. Imagine a group of autistic savant children decended from gypsies who were descended from the Delphi Oracle.... Now imagine how they might be exploited!
When my friend, Larry Sanders, got his first story published, he autographed and sent me a copy of it. I had already read the story (at least twice and it is in his book) but I will read it again. I will also read all the rest. This is a group of writers age 65 and older...some published, some not. The book starts with poetry--good stuff--and then goes on to essays (where Larry's story is--in fact, he won third place.) The book is motivational. You can submit a story to the annual contest and you may get it published! Cool.
