Young people are being murdered, the church representatives have sent people to tell Father John O'Malley that they are closing the mission, and Vickie's daughter is back on the reservation and is addicted to some drug. The action moves swiftly and one marvels at how much can be fit into this few pages. The book reads quickly and is exciting.
I have now begun reading Tales of the U'tanse, a sequel to Star Time by Henry Melton. After the supernova of Betelgeuse and the subsequent destruction of most technology on Earth as well as the death of much of its population, Abe and Sharon fought off the opportunistic plunderers, but they were captured and taken back to the poisonous world of Ko. This book continues the story of the slave race of humans now on Ko.
